It is a companion to {{tl}}, which serves the same purpose for templates.

Category links can also be written as [[:Category:Africa]] giving Category:Africa,
or {{lc|Africa}} giving श्रेणी:Africa (सम्पादन | वार्ता | इतिहास | सूत्रहरू | हेरिएको | लगहरू).
